Emory Dean Keoke

Provides Training In:
- race and human relations,
- chemical dependency treatment for adolescents and adults,
- counselor skills,
- self-esteem for American Indians,
- crisis intervention and management
- community organizing.
In addition, he leads workshops in group techniques for working with youth, on substance abuse, and dual-diagnosis and mental health issues among American Indians, he also provides training for trainers of American Indians.
He is certified to teach counselor skills by National Institute on Drug Abuse
Central Regional Support Center in Chicago and has a B.S. in Nursing and a B.A. in Indian Studies.

Part-time Instructor/Chemical Dependency/Academic Counselor - provided individual and group therapy to students, faculty, and staff at the Crownpoint Institute of Technology, Crownpoint, New Mexico. Performed alcohol and drug evaluations and taught health education classes to students, faculty, staff, and community residents. Administered placement tests, did recruiting, and job placement with students. Participated in job/career fairs and provided consultant services to other agencies in the Crownpoint and Gallup, New Mexico area, 1996.
- Adolescent Residential Counselor, New Beginnings Center; Aberdeen, SD - Treated adolescents who were diagnosed conduct disordered, or who were judged to be delinquent, pre-delinquent, abused (sexual, physical, and/or verbal), or neglected. Treated all races of children. Performed and completed all evaluations, assessments, progress reports and related paperwork according to city, state, county, and federal standards for courts, mental health and social services agencies. Provided individual, group, and family therapy, 1985-86.
- Community Education Specialist; Fort Totten, ND - Provided community education on different topics. Provided all aspects of chemical dependency treatment to members of the Devils Lake Sioux reservation, which included individual, group, and family therapy.
